peers

yesterday was an interesting day. it actually started as one of those days that would just slip uneventfully by. it took a text message from a good friend from college to turn things around. bidz (which is how he is known to his friends) invited me to a game of basketball with his "tropa". even though i was in alabang and the venue was in cainta, i still gladly accepted. it was quite far... so why did i still accept? well, for one, bidz is an interesting guy who's fun to be with. he's a good friend jnne and i don't see often due to his busy schedule. also, his tropa was different in the sense that you would know who they are even though you haven't met them yet. bidz is a friendly guy and has lots of friends and tropas. the tropa we played with was cool not only because of who they were but also because they were kind, friendly, and down-to-earth despite their status.

i enjoyed our game even though i was out-of-sync. it was also tiring since we didn't have reserves. our team consisted of bidz (aka wallace or wallace tiktik from wazzup wazzup), vhong, drew, gerard (from yes yes show), and me. joross and john also was to play but joross had extended taping while john arrived late. man, it was weird at first. i was the only one in our team who was not in showbiz. it was easy to warm up to them though, since they were comfortable to be with. jnne and i found them to be friendly and kalog. we had a few laughs. jnne even got joked around for her loud cheering.

playing basketball with them was great but what really made the day interesting was finding out that despite being in showbiz, they still really are normal people like you and me. they're real people just like most of us who want to make most out of life and just be themselves most of the time. hopefully i'll be able to join them again for basketball. Ü
